Ashesh Malla

Founder & Pioneer of Street Theatre in Nepal

Ashesh Malla is a celebrated playwright, director, and the pioneer of street theatre in Nepal. He founded Sarwanam in 1980 (2038 BS), bringing theatre out of conventional halls and into the streets to reach the people directly. Over 45+ years, he has trained generations of performers and used theatre as a tool for social awareness and transformation.
